The Scholar Piano Black presents the silhouette in its purest form. Sculpted from deep black Italian acetate and handcrafted in Modena, Italy, the frame serves as a study in contrast, allowing light, color, and perception to become the defining variables.

The Piano Black Collection explores three distinct ZEISS lens studies housed within a single architectural form. While the frame remains constant, each lens interpretation creates its own atmosphere, transforming the experience of the object without altering its identity.

Produced in editions of 20 pieces per lens study, each frame is handmade by artisans in Modena using traditional techniques refined over generations. The final paint application, detailing, shaping refinements, and finishing are personally completed by Marcel Katz, creating a direct connection between the object and its creator. Slight variations and imperfections are not flaws but evidence of human craftsmanship, ensuring that every pair remains unique.
