One-of-One Wearable Sculptures
For a select number of collectors each year, Maison Marcel offers private commissions created in collaboration with founder Marcel Katz and the artisans of Modena, Italy.
Each commission begins with a conversation and evolves into a unique wearable sculpture designed specifically for its collector.
No two commissions are ever alike.
THE PROCESS
Every project is developed through direct consultation and may include:
• Exclusive acetate compositions
• Custom lens colors and treatments
• Personalized engravings
• Hand-painted details by Marcel Katz
• Limited edition or one-of-one production
• Custom packaging and provenance documentation
• Archive registration within the Maison Marcel Collection
FROM MODENA TO THE ARCHIVE
Every commissioned piece is handcrafted in Modena, Italy using premium Italian cellulose acetate, stainless steel hardware, and artisan finishing techniques refined over generations.
Collectors have direct access to a level of personalization unavailable through the standard collection, including custom acetate combinations, lens treatments, and artist-applied details.
Each piece is individually documented and preserved within the Maison Marcel Archive.

Private Commissions are accepted in highly limited quantities each year.
Projects are reviewed personally by Marcel Katz and the Maison Marcel team.
Pricing is determined by complexity, materials, and level of customization.
