SCHOLAR “Black Rose” is a sculptural eyewear study built around contrast: a deep black frame paired with rose-tinted lenses. The Scholar silhouette remains restrained and architectural, while the warm lens treatment softens the overall expression and introduces a more reflective, dreamlike quality.

The frame was conceived as an ode to thinkers, dreamers and makers. Subtle wave patterns along the temples reference the rhythm of thought and language, adding movement to the otherwise controlled geometry. Each pair is handcrafted in Modena, Italy and individually serialized, reinforcing Maison Marcel’s approach to micro-production and archival preservation.

Produced in an edition of 777 pieces worldwide, every Scholar Black Rose is numbered and registered within the Maison Marcel archive, with its serial number engraved inside the temple and mirrored on the archival box.
