SCHOLAR NERO MARMO explores depth through darkness. The Scholar silhouette is rendered in deep black Italian cellulose acetate with a marble-like surface and liquid sheen, recalling polished stone under gallery light. The finish absorbs and reflects light selectively, creating layered movement beneath an otherwise restrained exterior.

Each frame is handcrafted in Modena, Italy and finished with hand-painted details by Marcel Katz. Subtle shifts in tone and texture reference the irregular veining of natural stone, giving every piece an individual surface character that becomes more apparent through movement and proximity.

Produced as an Édition d’Artiste of only three pieces worldwide, Scholar Nero Marmo is individually serialized, authenticated and registered within the Maison Marcel archive. An optional sculptural stand in patina-aged copper and nickel soldered metal allows the work to exist as both wearable sculpture and a gallery-ready object.

Every order includes the frame, a leather case, a Maison Marcel presentation box, an outer protective box, a microfiber cloth, authenticity card, certificate of provenance, and the printed care booklet.

A care booklet is included with every order. Clean the lenses with the provided microfiber cloth. Store your frame in its leather case when not in use. Keep it away from heat, alcohol-based products, and salt water. Treat it as you would a collectible object.

Each frame begins with Italian cellulose acetate, shaped and polished by hand in Modena. Artisans refine every line until the form feels inevitable. Precision replaces speed, and every gesture preserves intention.
