SCHOLAR MUTANT

Scholar Mutant is a hand-painted evolution of the MARCEL Scholar, inspired by mutant energy, underground comic culture, radioactive color, and the Saturday-morning nostalgia of the 1990s.

The original Scholar silhouette is sculpted from Italian acetate and handcrafted by artisans in Modena, Italy. Each Scholar Mutant begins with that architectural form and is then individually painted, altered, and finished by Marcel Katz.

No two works are identical. Variations in color, texture, brushwork, and finish are intentional characteristics of the artwork, giving every frame its own identity within the edition.
