FORMICA DEMON DALÍ | ERROR — 1 OF 1
Wearable Sculpture · Error / Trial Proof · Unique Work 1 of 1
FORMICA DEMON DALÍ is a singular trial proof created outside the standard FORMICA edition. Built from NOR black Italian cellulose acetate and paired with red ZEISS lenses, the piece preserves a series of production deviations that would normally be corrected or removed: upside-down logos, incorrect typography, hand-applied red and gold writing, and an intentionally unfinished surface.
Rather than refining those irregularities away, Marcel Katz preserved them as part of the object’s identity. Raw edges, exposed surface character and visible process turn the frame into a record of experimentation rather than a polished edition piece.
Completely handmade by Marcel Katz, FORMICA DEMON DALÍ exists as a one-of-one deviation within the Dalí | Marcel archive. It will not be revised, replicated, or absorbed into the 1,904-piece Standard Edition.
