FRAME

Copy Katz is a playful work about imitation, identity, and the strange way ideas multiply once they enter the world. The repeated cat-like faces become a visual joke and a warning at the same time, turning the phrase “copycats” into Copy Katz, a direct nod to Marcel Katz and the creative universe around him.

Painted on a gold surface, the figures feel like markings, masks, or symbols left behind by a repeating character. Some faces appear amused, some blank, some almost erased, creating a small crowd of personalities that feel familiar but never exactly the same.

The piece reflects the tension every artist faces: being inspired, being copied, being watched, and being remembered. Copy Katz turns that tension into humor, transforming repetition into a signature and making imitation part of the mythology.

PACKAGING

Every order includes the frame, a leather case, a Maison Marcel presentation box, an outer protective box, a microfiber cloth, authenticity card, certificate of provenance, and the printed care booklet.

CARE

A care booklet is included with every order. Clean the lenses with the provided microfiber cloth. Store your frame in its leather case when not in use. Keep it away from heat, alcohol-based products, and salt water. Treat it as you would a collectible object.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

Each frame begins with Italian cellulose acetate, shaped and polished by hand in Modena. Artisans refine every line until the form feels inevitable. Precision replaces speed, and every gesture preserves intention.
