FORMICA MARTIAN is a Maison Marcel × Dalí Universe wearable sculpture rendered in saturated Martian red Italian acetate with warm yellow ZEISS lenses. The color treatment gives the FORMICA silhouette an intense, high-contrast presence while preserving the sculptural ant-inspired language of the collaboration.
The temples extend the ant motif into elongated architectural lines, referencing the surreal proportions found throughout Dalí’s imagery. Salvador Dalí’s signature is engraved on both the temple and lens, while two Dalí quotations are engraved inside the frame and hand-painted to become part of the object’s hidden interior narrative.
Produced as an Édition d’Artiste of 111 individually unique works, each FORMICA Martian is handcrafted and hand-finished in Modena, Italy.
