FORMICA BRILLANTE “Carne” brings together surrealism, sculpture and functional design through the creative dialogue between Marcel Katz and the Dalí Universe. Inspired by Salvador Dalí’s Space Elephant and his fascination with transformation, the frame translates surrealist symbolism into a piece of wearable sculpture.

Elongated lines, tactile finishes and carefully balanced proportions explore the contrast between delicacy and strength. The temples culminate in sculptural spoon-and-fork tips, transforming an everyday object into an unexpected design element and referencing the culinary imagery found throughout Dalí’s surrealist universe.

Conceived in Miami and handcrafted in Modena, Italy from sustainable cellulose acetate with 18k gold hardware, FORMICA BRILLANTE “Carne” was produced in an edition of 115 pieces worldwide, accompanied by 11 Artist Proofs and 5 Trial Proofs. Created in partnership with the Dalí Universe and officially recorded in the Dalí Universe Catalog, the work occupies the space between eyewear, collectible design and art.
