DEMON DALÍ
ERROR / TRIAL PROOF
1 of 1
A deviation preserved.
DEMON DALÍ exists outside the edition. A NOR / Black Formica with red lenses, carrying upside-down logos, incorrect typography, and red and gold writing applied by hand. The surface is intentionally rough, the frame and temples left unfinished, exposing process, hesitation, and decision-making normally erased from production.
Completely handmade by Marcel Katz, this trial proof embraces error as authorship. Nothing has been corrected. Nothing refined. The object resists polish and completion, revealing the raw language of making rather than the finality of design.
Dalí rejected perfection as an illusion.
“Have no fear of perfection. You will never reach it.”
This piece embodies that philosophy fully. Imperfection is not a flaw here. It is the point.
DEMON DALÍ is a singular object.
A one-of-one deviation.
A mistake elevated into record.
This work will never be replicated, revised, or absorbed into the 1904 Standard Edition.
