SCHOLAR “RetYo” revisits a Maison Marcel classic through transparency, light and reinvention. Its transparent acetate construction transforms the familiar rectangular SCHOLAR silhouette into a study of structure and negative space, revealing the architecture of the frame rather than concealing it.

Balancing nostalgia with contemporary expression, RetYo preserves the intellectual character of the SCHOLAR while presenting it through a lighter visual language. The result bridges eras: a familiar form reconsidered through clarity, material and modern proportion.

Conceived in Miami and handcrafted in Italy from premium cellulose acetate with Carl Zeiss optics, SCHOLAR “RetYo” was produced as a micro edition of only 20 pieces worldwide. It remains preserved within the Maison Marcel archive as an exploration of memory, transparency and evolution.
